New Code for Binary

I am using new symbols to create a similar system of binary. Instead of just using 0 and 1 I am using different symbols to give binary a whole different twist. I used - to represent "on" and _ to represent "off"

For example:

_-_-_ would equal 10

or

_ _ _ _ _ would equal 0

Also if you wanted to send a message using words this method as well.    16  8  4  2  1

For example:

To say "hello" you would type
_-_ _ _
_ _-_-
_- -_ _
_- -_ _
_- - - -

Each set of symbols represents a letter and although it would take you a while to send a long message it does in fact work.

Why do Computers use Binary

3 things you learned

  • The higher the voltage the higher the sound pressure, the lower the voltage the lower the sound pressure
  • Sound is air being compressed and pulled apart
  • A way to represent the numbers we want to add is encoding and 2 wires for voltages are used to transfer the information

2 things you don't understand

  • Cutting the range intro fractions and being unsure whether the reader will be able to understand it
  • How could they cut the range into 2 pieces to encode?

1 thing you would like to know more about

  • Why they send voltages in one digit at a time

Binary

The highest level that I reached was level 4. The hardest part was trying to add all of the high numbers together quickly without messing up. Yes I do like using the binary numbers but it gets confusing and difficult with higher numbers. You could use each finger as a certain number and put it up and down. With computers it is easier to input numbers and it will take less time to just have it on or off. It is much less time consuming.

Eliza, Computer Therapist

No i did not find Eliza to be human-like because she was not very intelligent. She could not keep the conversation going and even when I would respond to her questions it seemed as if she did not understand what was going on. I tried to make her seem more human by asking her questions and looking for responses but all she would do is repeat the question that I had asked. I cannot expect much from a computer because they do not have any emotions and they do not understand how to communicate with a human. All it is, is a programming system that was put together by humans but now it cannot succeed by itself. I do see that at some point in the future computers could become substitutes because our technology is growing quickly and people are very smart and they can create many more powerful programming systems.

Google Boys Video

Google was created by Lary Page and Sergey Brin. They originally hated each other but then began to use their minds together and created Google. While moving forward they face challenges with other competing search engines and also with lawsuits that they may face. Their key to being ahead is to keep updating their links so that there are many options for people. The most relevant and popular pages will be at the top of the search. Their information is found so quickly because they already have all of the websites stored so when someone searches something, all of the websites that relate to the search will appear on the screen in order of relevancy and popularity. Both founders of Google are worth over 4 billion dollars each and plan on improving their company even more.
